For her quinceañera, Rosi Alvarez had one major rule when it came to the outfit she’d pick out for the bash: no poofy princess dresses.
Rosi is just one of the girls part of HBO’s new collection of short documentary films, 15: A Quinceañera Story. Music exec Tommy Mottola, Emmy-winner Matthew O’Neill, and Latin Grammy-winning recording artist Thalia Sodi have come together to produce and direct the four films, which follow five very different Latinx girls as they prepare for the rite of passage known as the quinceañera.
A Quinceañera Story debuts on HBO and HBO Latino December 19, followed by a new half-hour film on successive nights the 20, 21, and 22.
